A few of my favorite things - January 2018

Guys, how is it the end of January already? I have to say, 2018 is feeling pretty darn good to me so far.  In reflecting on this month, I felt inspired to share some of the things that I've been loving. This is somewhat of a random list -- I think that's why I personally love monthly favorite blog posts though, so I still wanted to share. Let's get into it!

Moonlight: Whew. This is one of those movies that draws you in and sticks with you for weeks after you watch it.  It's a heart-wrenching depiction of a young man's quest to find his true self, and I truly think we can all relate to this in one way or another. I'm still thinking about it a month later - you need to watch if you haven't seen it yet.

Essie nail polish "Bare with Me" - I usually love dark nails for winter, but since I discovered Essie's "Bare with Me" polish over the holiday break, I've been wearing it ever since. It's the perfect nude -- not too pink, not too brown, with hint of mauve.  Perfect for work as well.

Four Sigmatic - As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm trying to dramatically decrease the amount of caffeine/coffee I'm consuming on a daily basis.  Think - drinking decaf or green tea instead.  This switch has been a huge wake up call for my body, and I've definitely been feeling groggy as I slog through this caffeine withdrawal phase.  To help me get through this transition, I've been drinking either the Four Sigmatic mushroom coffee blend, or the hot cacao powder mix.  I can maintain the same morning routine of making myself a warm drink, but these mixes have significantly less caffeine compared to coffee and other awesome benefits (google medicinal mushrooms, or read on Four Sigmatic's site all the crazy wonderful things that 'shrooms can do for you!) I'm interested to try matcha as well - will keep you posted!

The Balanced Blonde Podcast: If you want a high-vibe podcast that lifts you up, this is the one for you.  I love listening to Jordan's interviews -- her spirituality is next level and it radiates in each episode.  I admire the combination of her business-savvy while staying true to her passion for spirituality.  She also has a beautiful blog. Highly recommend!

Woman code: I've been going through some hormonal struggles (we'll save that post for another day), so I recently picked up this book which gives insight into how women can be more in-sync with our cycle throughout the month.  A very interesting/different perspective on the female body and hormones, and I thought that it provided a lot of great information that helped me understand myself on a different (more scientific) level.  Great read for any woman out there (or any guy who wants to understand his lady better)!

Trying Yoga Again: This happened pretty recently, but trying yoga again was one of my favorite experiences this month.  Check out my post to read more!
