Best of Beauty - 2018.
Hi friends! You guys all know that beauty and trying new products is one of my absolute favorite pastimes. Last year, we recapped my top ten favorites, so I wanted to do the same this year. Taking a look back, some of the products are exactly the same which is exciting! I feel like I’m finally at the point in my life that I have reliable, holy grail products that I religiously repurchase. Let’s get into it!
Drunk Elephant Vitamin C Serum - I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. I’ve repurchased it three times now, and I love it even more than the Naturopathica that I mentioned last year. This product seems to me to be an oil/skincare hybrid and just makes me GLOW. I miss this when I run out of it.
Drunk Elephant Baby Facial - Albeit an odd name, this product was my go-to exfoliant for the past two years. I leaned on this hard leading up to my wedding for a variety of reasons: 1) It's a mere 20 minute commitment, 2) It doesn't sting (at least for me), and 3) It's not a weird color. I use this about once a week or every other week and it gives me the smoothest, softest skin afterwards. Will repurchase, but it hasn't run out even after a year.
Kjaer Weis Cream Blush - I've been loving this blush all year, especially for winter when I find that my fair complexion needs some color. I typically pick blush over bronzer in the winter, and the Kjaer Weis is eco-friendly, and such a beautiful, rosy, natural flush. I pat it on my cheeks (before powder), and I'm good to go for work.
Eborian BB Crème au Ginseng - This is the only face product I used consistently in 2018, other than the occasional foundation for a special occasion. This stuff is good. Sheer, light coverage (personal preference, I go in with concealer if I need it), sunscreen, and the shade just works on my fair skin. I apply with my fingers and it's super quick. And it lasted a full year. Win.
Lily Lolo Mascara - This is a really great eco-friendly mascara. The W3LL people mascara seems to be reformulated and now smears on me, but this one never does. It lasts all day and is a beautiful black color. I would highly recommend whether you’re interested in eco beauty or not.
Anastasia Brow Wiz (Taupe) - Let’s be honest that there’s not a TON to say about a brow pencil, but this one is just an old reliable that I continually repurchase. It’s the right shade for me as a blonde and it sticks around all day.
Maya Chia Supercritical Chia Waterless Wonder Balm - This might be the longest product name I’ve ever seen, but the Maya Chia Wonder Balm is absolute heaven. I was looking for a product to replace my Aquaphor in the evenings, and this is perfection. I’ve struggled finding a nontoxic chapstick or balm that feels moisturizing enough, but this completely does the trick. I’ve also been applying to my hands and any dry patches at night — this product is a TOTAL multitasker.
Trilogy Rosehip Antioxidant + Oil - I feel like I’ve tried a lot of oils over the past couple of years, and this is one I’m keeping in my bathroom stash (where the real MVP products live). This was an A+ recommendation from work, and BOY was it on-point.
Perricone MD No Highlighter Highlighter - Very very rarely (maybe if it's Friday) I put on some highlighter for work. I've tried the RMS Living Luminizer previously, which is beautiful, but unfortunately broke me out. This product is my current favorite - it's a thin liquid that just makes you look like you have that inner glow, without being glittery or over-the-top for daytime. Highly recommend!
Glossier Jam Generation G Lipstick - As a general rule, I don't wear lipstick. I'm much more of a chapstick or Aquaphor kind of girl. HOWEVER - this is just the prettiest berry stain that is perfect for the fall and winter, or if I'm feeling really crazy, I'll build it up for a brighter look. I even find myself reaching for it at work. The best part is that you don't even need a mirror to apply it.
I do currently have on thing on my wish list for 2019…Ouai x Summer Fridays, but we’ll save that for another day :).
