My *current* date-night makeup routine!

Happy Saturday beautiful people! For some unknown reason, I woke up at 4:48 AM this morning and could NOT go back to sleep.  So here I am, at 9:40AM with hair done, and a full-on smoky eye, doing laundry and meal-prep for the week :). Gotta love that internal clock.

I usually wear relatively light make-up during the work week - products that helps me to look polished and put together, but nothing too intense.  So whenever my husband and I go out on the weekends, I love to apply a bit more makeup than my typical 10-minute routine. I truly enjoy the beautification process -- I find it so fun and relaxing to grab a glass of wine, taking my time, and just enjoy my routine!  And I think that it's important to note too - just as I practice moderation with eating healthy and exercising (or at least try my best!), I also practice moderation with beauty.  I typically wear eco-friendly beauty and skincare products, but I also love to experiment with other things here and there, and that's ok! 80/20 rule baby. Now let's get into what products I'm loving for date night -- if you are looking for any Valentine's Day inspo, hopefully you find it here <3!

Primer (Dr. Jart Cicapair Color Correcting Cream): I don't use primer during the week, but for special occasions I love to use the Dr. Jart Cicapair Color Correcting Cream before my base.  My skin tends to suffer from some redness during the winter, and this product pairs perfectly with one of my favorite moisturizers (the Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream).  I used a pea sized amount of this to even and smooth my skin tone - I've been known to wear this on its own in the past and call it a day as well.

Foundation (Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation in #123): I typically wear a tinted moisturizer or sunscreen during the week, but I do love applying foundation for a night out.  I applied Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation with my beauty blender -- it has a beautiful, luminous finish (I cannot stand old-school matte/cakey foundations).

Powder (W3LL People Bio-Brightening Powder): I did a quick dusting of this powder to set everything prior to apply my blush.

Blush (Becca in Flowerchild): Although blush and I have had a love-hate relationship over the years, I currently love blush, especially for a date night or evening out.  It gives my complexion some life, especially given the Boston winter weather.  I applied this Becca powder blush to the apples/temples of my cheeks for a nice glow, as this formula has a little bit of shimmer in it (in a the best way possible!)

Brows (Glossier Boy Brow in Blonde and Anastasia Brow Wiz in Blonde): The usual suspects.  A quick swipe of both through my brows and called it good!

Eyeshadow & Liner (Urban Decay Naked Palette & L'oreal Gel Liner in Black): I've had this palette for eight years now (what!?!) and it's still going strong.  I applied the shades Naked, Buck, and Darkhorse (all warm brown tones) and blended them all together with a big fluffy brush.  I then did a quick smudge of L'oreal Gel Liner into my lashes with a small liner brush.

Mascara (Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes!): I curled my lashes and then did a couple coats of Tarte's Light Camera Lashes mascara.  I like this mascara for nights out because it's more volumizing than the eco-friendly W3LL People that I use for every day.

Lips (Smith & Cult Tainted Lip Stain in Love Sucker): As I'm typically a chapstick girl, it's nice to do a brighter lip in the evening.  I love this lip stain because it started as a beautiful gloss upon application, and then dried down to a COMFORTABLE lip stain.  Most stains I've tried had me scrubbing them off an hour later because they were so drying.  But this one felt moisturizing on my lips and also lasts all night!

A spritz of Glossier You Perfume, and I was to go for the evening!  Feel free to click through the images below to see a few more pics of this look <3.
