3 ways to spice up your capsule wardrobe.

Hi friends! I hope you had an amazing weekend and are recharged for the week ahead.

I don't know if you ever feel this way, but sometimes I feel a little bit bored with my capsule wardrobe because so many of my pieces are simple basics. Although capsules are an AMAZING way to streamline your wardrobe, sometimes I can get a little tired of wearing the same things in similar ways. So today, I wanted to share three of my favorite ideas to spice up my capsule wardrobe - here are some of my tips to keep things looking fresh and different!

1. Add accessories. Pictured here are a great pair of Madewell earrings, but I love scarves, hats, sunglasses, and bracelets to add a little something extra to my outfits.  Some of my favorite places for relatively inexpensive accessories are: H&M (they have the best infinity scarves!), LOFT, and Madewell.  On my accessory shopping list for the Spring/Summer season will hopefully be a cute hat!

2. Layer, layer, layer! I picked a few outfits that I've worn recently on the weekends above, and all of them involve multiple layers on the top half of my outfit.  I love a fuzzy vest, scarf, and jean jacket for the springtime when you need a little extra layering action to keep warm.  It also makes it easy to stay comfortable when you're out and about and can just take a layer off if you get too warm!

3. Mix up your makeup/hairstyle. This one is super easy, but can have a ton of impact when your outfit is relatively basic simple.  Try a red lip, or an updo if you always wear your hair down. Above, I decided to do a simple braid in my hair, which added a different element to my outfit (and also is WAY easier than doing my hair). These small changes can really spice things up and keep your capsule looking fresh!

For anyone out there who is trying to transition to a capsule wardrobe, do you have any tips for keeping your outfits feeling new and fresh?

Sending love,

Meg
