The natural skincare brand that I'm absolutely LOVING - Josh Rosebrook.
Hi guys! Happy Thursday :). Today I wanted to share the eco/natural skincare line that I've been absolutely loving. You all know that this past year, I've started to transition the vast majority of my makeup/skincare to eco-friendly alternatives. And yes, this even means by beloved Glossier Milky Jelly cleanser (which is only a 4 on the Think Dirty iPhone app, but I knew that I could do better!). I'm not perfect by any means, and there are a handful of items I can't imagine giving up (Cle de Peau absurdly overpriced concealer that's lasted me 2.5 years so far - I'M LOOKING AT YOU!), but I definitely wanted to make a final push to clean up the rest of my products.
Today I wanted to share my thoughts on an eco-friendly skincare line that is SO good I can't stop raving about it - Josh Rosebrook. These products are now KEY in my morning/evening skincare routines because I've noticed such a dramatic (awesome) improvement in my skin since starting to use them.
Here's some more background on my skin, because I think it's helpful to know if you're interested in any of these products! I have normal/combination skin. Overall, it's pretty clear since I've eliminated most dairy products from my diet, but recently I've suffered from some hormonal breakouts since coming off of hormonal birth control (just keepin' it real). While I used to use harsh skincare products, I find that gentle products with less exfoliating properties work best for my skin right now.
Let's get into it!
Complete Moisture Cleanse: I was extremely skeptical that an eco-friendly cleanser could remove my makeup as well as my beloved Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser. WELL, I was wrong. The complete moisture cleanser removes my makeup just as well as conventional cleansers, and my skin never feels dry or stripped afterwards. I started using the travel size, and I was so impressed that I recently also ordered the regular size. I use this morning and night.
Hydrating Accelerator: While I've relied on exfoliating toners in the past (and still use P50 from time to time), I've been favoring this product as a light toner in the AM and PM. I genuinely notice a difference in my skin's hydration after using this, and it feels super light and non-greasy.
Active Infusion Serum: A serum is one of those steps that is so important for our skin, but I definitely have struggled to find an awesome eco-friendly version in the past. This product is great as an evening serum, but is a little too heavy to use under makeup for work (although I do love it during the day on weekends, when I'm usually makeup free!). I would recommend this if you need a basic serum that feels extremely moisturizing.
Nutrient Tinted Day Cream: This moisturizer is the real MVP. In the past, I've struggled to use facial products with sunscreen because 1) they usually broke me out and 2) I could feel them sitting on my skin. I've been using this day cream religiously for about a year now, and it is the perfect daily moisturizer that also includes SPF 30. It has an extremely light tint - don't expect a foundation or even a tinted moisturizer -- I'd say it's comparable to the Glossier Skin Tint. I know that it's so important to use SPF on a daily basis, and this product just makes it so easy. LOVE IT, can't rave enough, and if there's one thing to check out, it's this one.
Vital Balm Cream: I use this product in the evenings as a heavier moisturizer (seriously, I actually love going to bed with oily skin - makes me feel like I'm doing something, ya know?). It smells SO good, and with ingredients like sea buckthorn oil, evening primrose oil, ashwaganda, turmeric, milk thistle - I'm just so impressed by this amazing blend. A little goes a very long way, so I imagine I'll have this for months to come.
Active Enzyme Exfoliator: You know how sometimes your skin just needs a good physical exfoliation after a long week, especially if you've been out and about a lot? I use this product about once a week, and my skin feels as soft as a baby's bottom afterwards. Definitely check out the ingredients - honestly I'm shocked by how clean the list is, compared to how well this works for me!
One area I'm still trying to clean up is my shampoo/conditioner (my blonde hair can get super dingy if I use the wrong products), so I ordered sample sizes of the shampoo and conditioner. I'll report back! If you've been looking for an eco-friendly skincare brand or have been skeptical of trying, definitely check out Josh Rosebrook. Let me know if you do!
Have you tried any Josh Rosebrook products? Any that are currently on your list?
