February Favorites.

Hi Friends!

Can you guys believe that the end of February is almost upon us? I feel like January felt like 5 months by itself, so it’s crazy that we’re basically in March already!

I haven’t been doing a ton of favorites posts in the past couple of months, but I wanted to share what I’ve been loving this month and in 2019 so far. I’d also love to hear what you’ve been loving lately, so hit me up and let me know what I need to try next in the comments below. Love you guys! Let’s get into it.

Green Smoothies // I’m back on the green smoothie train for most days during the work week because I find that I can make a big batch over the weekend and have them ready to go during the week. I also love that I’m not STARVING by the time lunchtime rolls around whenever I make this recipe. My current blend is…

  • Spinach (not TOO much because I found that it was actually making me really nauseous…maybe all the iron in spinach?)

  • Frozen Strawberries (about 4, or a handful)

  • Scoop of almond butter (I LOVE Trader Joe’s raw almond butter)

  • Scoop of Silver Fern Protein (chocolate all the way!)

  • Sprinkle of flax seeds

  • Almond Milk (when I’m feeling ambitious, I’ll make my own…which hasn’t happened for awhile, HA!)

This was a cocoa-version of my fav oatmeal!

Oatmeal // With that being said, I’ve been also loving a nice warm bowl of oatmeal for breakfast during the winter. It’s maybe not as “healthy” as a green smoothie, but it really hits the spot. I always add peanut butter and sometimes frozen raspberries on top of my plain rolled oats…I love the Teddie’s brand peanut butter the best, and I’m a smooth PB girl through and through!

Mint Tea // While it’s not necessarily food, I feel like it’s related because it’s been helping me SO much with calming my stomach after meals. I know I talk about my gut-health a lot, and while it’s still way better than it’s been in the past…after traveling and eating donuts and amazing food, it has NOT been happy with me. I’ve been more strict with my eating habits (low-FODMAP, etc.) but still having some issues. I’ve become a HUGE believe in drinking mint tea after my lunch at work. It’s been working like a charm! I just buy the mint blend from Trader Joe’s.

Lifestyle:

Humidifier // This is not a sexy favorite, at ALL, but I’ve been absolutely loving sleeping with our humidifier on all night. I’ve noticed huge differences in how thirsty I am waking up in the morning (way less), my skin (way softer), and how dry my nose and eyes are (even in this crazy winter weather.) This one is similar to the version we have now, and I love it.

PF & Co Candles // I recently ran out of candles, and since lighting them is one of my favorite ways to disconnect from the day at work, I knew I needed to order some more. I resisted for a really long time, but recently ordered two candles from PF & Co and realized how much I forgot I LOVED them. I got Teakwood and Tobacco (honestly probably the candle that I’ve repurchased the most) and Cannabis (smells very botanical, love this one for our bedroom and bathroom!). While browsing, I saw that they now have fragrance….I know what I’m getting next time.

Cozy joggers & Sweatshirt // I’ve never had an AMAZING pair of jogger bottoms, until I bought these from Target. I’ve been literally living in these amazing dream-cloud pants (pictured below). Cheap and good quality, I feel like they also look a little cuter than my usual lounge clothes for around the house. Isn’t Target the best? I also recently purchased this Everlane sweatshirt, and I love it.

Spin Classes // Shoutout to STEPH for suggesting a spin class on our recent trip to San Antonio because I forgot HOW much I love a good sweat. You guys know that I’m relatively active on a daily basis just because of our lifestyle living close to Boston and walking to/from the T each day into work. I also work out in the mornings before work, but I totally forgot how amazing it is to work up a great sweat like the one you do during a spin class. I’m still scoping out favorite spots in Boston, so stay tuned!

Gratitude Practice // One of my goals for 2019 is to be more grateful of where I am and what’s happening in life. And wow, I’ve been enjoying this addition to my routine and just feeling really good about the changes I’ve made in the past couple of years. Pretty cool to reflect on.

So those are some of my favorite things from February this year. I would love to hear what you’ve been loving as well - shoot me a comment below, or find me on Instagram. Would love to chat with you there!

Xoxo,

Meg
